This scenic flight takes you north from Taupō over vibrant geothermal landscapes, ancient volcanic craters, and the Rotorua Lakes District. From steaming valleys to crystal-clear lakes, you will experience a side of the region that can only be appreciated from above.

The Experience

Departing Taupō, you will fly over the colourful geothermal landscapes of Wai-O-Tapu before continuing to Mount Tarawera, one of New Zealand's most significant volcanic landmarks. From there, the flight follows the Rotorua Lakes District, where you will enjoy aerial views of Tikitapu (Blue Lake), Rotokākahi (Green Lake), Ōkāreka, Tarawera, Rotomahana, and Ōkataina.

Before returning to Taupō, you will also fly over the remarkable geothermal valley of Ōrākei Kōrako, home to New Zealand's largest silica terraces and one of the country's most active geothermal areas.
